Are you looking for some Montessori-style at-home activities for your child at 12 to 18 months? Our Peg Board is the perfect tool to do discrimination work! The goal is to match the width of the wooden dowel to the correct slot. Only when all the pieces are in the correct slots will they all fit!

This work is important for babies through preschoolers since it helps to develop visual motor planning and fine motor skills. Visual-motor skills are the combination of motor skills and visual perception skills working together, and they are needed for so many daily, practical tasks- eating, getting dressed, brushing teeth, etc.

Peg work also can build fine motor development as kids eventually use the tripod grasp to hold and insert “pegs”.

Our Peg board is sanded by hand to ensure a smooth and gentle surface for little hands. Made from a solid piece of maple hardwood and sealed with a natural non-toxic food-safe and solvent-free finish.

This Wooden Board is made by me in Raleigh, North Carolina, handcrafted in my woodshop, and 100% sourced in the US.

• Pure food-grade mineral oil, beeswax, and carnauba wax
