Hello, welcome to my shop. I am Diana owner of Nature Based Toys, located in Wake Forest NC.

I have a passion for woodworking that started many years ago. I used to work in the field of international affairs, traveling the world and helping to negotiate important deals between countries. But when I became a mom to my one and only son, in 2015, I knew that my priorities had changed. I wanted to be there for my child every step of the way, so I left my job and devoted myself to parenting.

For a while, I was content to stay at home and raise my son. I loved being with him and watching him grow, and I enjoyed the many challenges and rewards of motherhood. But as he got older and became more independent, I began to feel a sense of restlessness. I missed the excitement and fulfillment of my old career, and I felt a strong desire to do something more with my life.
That's when I decided to open my own woodshop. I had always been passionate about woodworking, and the idea for my business started after visiting the beautiful Asheville mountains.

I spent many months learning all I could about the craft and creating beautiful and unique pieces of furniture and home decor. I worked tirelessly to build my business that is slowly taking off.
